What it is
In the middle of an emergency or hardship, many people want to help but don't know whom, or whether the need is real. AyudandoA solves that with a network of volunteers who visit and verify every case before publishing it, always protecting people's data.
Why it exists
The earthquake of August 10 left many families in Colombia not knowing whom to ask for help —and many people wanting to help, not knowing whom to trust. AyudandoA was born to close that gap: real verification, person to person, before connecting anyone.
We're now up and running: the volunteer network is active and several cases have already received help ❤️. Our focus now is on bringing in sponsors and giving more visibility to the initiative and to the cases still waiting. And of course, the bigger the network, the better.
How it works
The person asks for help, or a volunteer registers a family in need of support.
A volunteer visits and confirms the need is real before it's published.
Someone who wants to help chooses the verified case and requests to sponsor it.
Once the match is approved we share the contact, and we follow up on the support.
Support
Every family needs different things. You help with whatever you can —groceries, medicines, some materials—. It doesn't have to be money.
Something else needed? We coordinate that too. You decide how and with what to help.
Volunteering
Helping isn't always going into the field. You can join as an Enlace (a link) or as a Verificador (a verifier), and neither handles money.
You refer a family, business or institution you know. No need to go verify or follow up. Ideal if you're short on time but know someone who needs help.
You visit the person, verify the case in the field, record the minimum with consent, and accompany. You're the heart of the trust.
🔒 A case referred by an Enlace is not published until a Verificador confirms it in person.
In the field, the Verificador does this:
Picks a pending case in their area —a self-registration or one referred by an Enlace—, or registers a family they found.
Visits the family and confirms the need is real before it's published.
With their consent, saves what's needed. Sensitive data stays protected, never public.
Follows up on the support and helps coordinate. They validate; sponsors provide the help.
